- Haiti - Nov 2010
This album contains images from a mission trip by David Heckman, Doug Heckman and Jack Miller during the third week of November 2010, sponsored by Simpsonwood United Methodist Church (SUMC). The objective of the trip was to oversee the start of construction for a school to be built in La Saline to help feed and educate the children who are suffering of malnutrition, resorting to eating "mud pies" instead of a normal diet. In addition, we delivered a malnutrition formula known as Medica Mamba to a clinic and arranged for 30 children to be treated. We also delivered toys donated by a girls group led by Andrea Keller for the children of the orphanage and in La Saline.

- Bear Lake Guys Weekend
With the great support of Bear Lake Resort, Paul Dietrick pulls together six of the toughest competitors on the planet to go head-to-head in a three day event to find out who will claim the title of...well...we never really named what we were all seeking, only that cash was at stake. After a great welcome party, we were treated to a fabulous dinner at the club. Completing dinner, Paul pronounced the obvious, "Game On!!!" and each man looked deep into the eyes of his foes, not knowing which man would complete the journey on top. With rain and snow in the forecast throughout the weekend, we each looked deep into our own souls to determine what possessed us to make this journey in the first place. Back to the cabin for the first competition of ping-pong and darts. I have no images in what was reported as a bloodbath in these early rounds. As the rains cleared, we were led on a forced march on the trail of tears and required to play tennis in freezing rain and snow. Poker in the evening resulted in even more carnage. Golf was cancelled due to cool weather (Paul's _ _ _ _ _ was hurting) and instead, we were forced to participate in a so-called Eco Challenge on the lake at daybreak on Sunday morning with the temperature hovering at zero and winds gusting to near gale force conditions. With most competitors' body temperatures approaching hypothermia in their golf attire, Paul, of course, sported three layers of thermal underwear and battery heated hiking boots. As expected, Paul was on the winning team with the event ending in controversy, eventually going to trial where Sue issued a fair verdict. A champion, a runner up and a loser were announced much to the chagrin of Paul who competed well but came up blank. But we all tip our hats to the man in charge for pulling this together even though we know that Holly did all the work. Special thanks to all the staff at Bear Lake and especially Sue and Joey for really taking the event to the next level. Enjoy the photos, many of which were taken by Joey.

- Honduras Mission Trip - SUMC
A very good day on the beach was followed by a week of very hard work, an overabundance of very dangerous snakes, an inaugural load of very cute chickens that later became the work of a very big BBQ and last but not least, the making of some very good friends. All of these shots were taken with a Canon Powershot G9.
